Sioux Falls Trip

The Walker Family travelled to Sioux Fall this last weekend for the Dakota's ABC Biannual Conference. It was a good weekend and both girls did good on the road. We got to meet some great people in the region and have some family time too :)

We left Hot Spring Thursday night around 8pm with the brilliant idea that if we drove half way at night that the girls would sleep and it would be a peaceful trip. The girls had other plans!!! Karis did not want to fall asleep at all and Mattea woke about every hour. By Murdo, SD we had had it and would this little place. We have to say that it was somewhat creepy upon first arrival. I'm glad Clint went in to check in as the guy that opened the door at 1am looked a little like Norman Bates. Then to find out that Clint said there were tons of dolls and the guy talked about his mother the whole time... Yea... I would have ran to the car and drove away... but glad he didn't!

By morning light the place was actually quite nice. It was WELL taken care of. The lawn was nice and had this cool huge tricycle out for show.

They had a nice breakfast for Karis... who doesn't love small powered donuts??? And had a hand full of antiques for sale. In this room they also had swim suits available for use if you forgot yours. Next to it was the pool and a nice small playground.

The guy told Clint that each room was themed. We had the Ni Hao, Kai-Lan room as we told Karis... it was the Asian theme for us.

Karis had to grab more powered donuts for the road to Sioux Falls.

We stopped in Chamberlain, SD on the Missouri River for a short walk. It was breezy, but nice to get out and walk about.

Daddy's teaching Karis how to kick in the swimming pool. She also learned to float a little too. I think she will be a good swimmer!

Mattea was a little unsure of the water, but she checked it out for a bit too.

Afternoon Fun!

Mattea is a drool factory!!! We could neither change her shirt ten times a day or put a bib on her... or we could just leave her soaking in her own spit :)

Loving to smile :)

What big sister wouldn't want to run over their baby sister with  a car... sign of things to come... we hope not!

Making us some dinner... usually pancakes or pizza.
